Dear colleagues,

Sometimes you need an extra push to get on your way in the morning… and to get to the top of Palatine Hill. “Bike Posse” was established circa 2011 to provide this motivation, but mostly to provide community on the commute to work! After a hiatus during the unpredictable 2020-21 academic year, the group is resuming our tradition this semester.

What/Who: an informal group of LC faculty, staff, and students who meet in Sellwood once a week (or more) to ride to campus together at a leisurely pace via Riverview Cemetery

When: this semester, we’ll meet on Tuesdays, and maybe other days if there is interest (You can add Bike Posse to your google calendar using this link; our first ride is Tuesday, August 31)

Exactly When/Where: we will meet at 7:45 am at SE Bybee / SE 14th (Westmoreland Townhomes, under construction) and then pick up any others at 7:50 am at the east end of the Sellwood Bridge

To join the Bike Posse google group and receive weekly reminders about the meetup, please send me an email. Questions are welcome, too. This is a group focused on transportation and community, so don’t expect a training ride. :) Electric bikes are welcome, but you’ll likely have to be able to maintain our regular slow pace.

Happy trails,

Anne
