Invitation to Clarinet Day—Oct. 23
October 19, 2010

Dear colleagues,

You are invited this Saturday evening to an evening of clarinet and piano music featuring Steven Cohen from Northwestern University and Portland pianist Ron Fabbro. Mr. Cohen is visiting our campus for the first time as part of “Clarinet Day 2010,” a day welcoming clarinet students of all levels and abilities to share in masterclasses and demonstrations from local clarinetists and teachers. The goal of the event is to inspire and motivate clarinetists of all ages. Clarinet Day will be held October 23 from 9-4 at the Evans Music Building.

Mr. Cohen’s recital will be at 7pm in Evans Auditorium and will feature Johannes Brahms f minor Sonata Op. 120; Louis Cahuzac’s “Pastorale Cevenole” and “Cantilene”; Benjamin Britten’s “Six Metamorphoses after Ovid”; and Bela Kovacs’ “Sholem-Alekhem, Rov Feidman!” General Admission is $15, students $5, and all Lewis & Clark students are free. Please join us in welcoming Steve Cohen!

Best,
