Many employees received notices last year that their personal information might have been impacted by the cybersecurity incident that occurred on or about February 28, 2023. After those notices were sent, a class action lawsuit was filed against the college on behalf of individuals who may have been impacted by the cyberattack.

A preliminary settlement of that lawsuit has now been reached. Postcards regarding the settlement were recently mailed to members of the settlement class, including many employees. The settlement is being handled by the attorneys for the plaintiffs and by a third-party settlement administrator. The notices were sent by the settlement administrator and not sent by the college.

Members of the settlement class are able to make a claim for a settlement payment, but such claims must go through the settlement administrator. The college is not handling these claims, and is not able to answer questions about the settlement or the claims process from members of the settlement class.

The college will not receive information about individuals who submit claims to the settlement administrator. No employee will be subject to retaliation due to participation in the settlement or for making a claim.

If you have questions about the settlement or about the claims process, please follow the directions on the postcard and contact the settlement administrator or plaintiffs’ attorneys.
