Rose Garden Restoration Club
Rose Garden Restoration Club
- The L&C Rose Garden Restoration Club is entirely student run, with alumni helping out as advisors.
- Sophie Abbassian BA ’25, a Rose Garden Restoration Club founder, poses with her mother and club advisor, Jennifer Huenink BA ’91, JD ’94.
- The club's work includes recobbling the edges of the garden beds.
- Some volunteers prefer to dig in the soil with their paws instead of tools!
- Some of the garden's roses are decades old and still alive!
- The rose garden has been part of the Fir Acres Estate since it was first built in the late 1920s.
- The garden was once home to 17,000 roses and produced several Rose Festival grand prize-winning roses.Watzek Library Special Collections and Archives
