President Robin Holmes-Sullivan has received an APA Presidential citation for her contributions to psychology. She accepted the award this month at the Oregon Psychological Association conference.

Dr. Holmes-Sullivan was nominated by Dr. Gordon Nagayama-Hall for her exceptional leadership as a university administrator over her career to improve the lives of students.

In her keynote speech Leadership for the Future, 2025 President of the American Psychological Association Debra M. Kawahara spoke about Holmes-Sullivan’s leadership journey.

“Developing transformational leaders for our ever-changing world is becoming more critical as societal issues become increasingly complex,” Kawahara said.

“This award means so much to me,” Holmes-Sullivan said. “I’m deeply grateful to the many colleagues, mentors, and students who have supported my journey in psychology. My leadership has always been about collaboration, listening, and striving to create a space where everyone can thrive. I’m committed to continuing to lead with integrity, compassion, and a deep belief in the power of psychology to make a positive difference.”
