Lewis & Clark to Participate in Invasive Insect Survey, July–October 2024

This summer, Lewis & Clark will join colleges and universities across the state in a survey of invasive insects conducted by the Oregon Department of Agriculture Insect Pest Prevention Management program.

The survey is an effort to observe and trap these three harmful insects:

One spongy moth trap and one box tree moth trap will be placed on campus in June and removed in September or October. While surveyors set and check these traps, they will also perform a visual survey for spotted lanternfly throughout the summer.

Additionally, The Oregon Department of Agriculture asks that Lewis & Clark students, faculty, and staff share this information and help raise awareness of these harmful insects.
