President Holmes-Sullivan Receives Women of Influence 2024 Award
President Robin Holmes-Sullivan was recognized as one the best and brightest women leaders in the region by the Portland Business Journal Women of Influence 2024 award.
“I am honored to have been chosen for the award,” President Holmes-Sullivan said. “It was wonderful to gather with such a great group in celebration of many amazing folks in our community.”
Now in its 21st year, the highly regarded award was designed to celebrate the region’s most influential business women from every industry and profession who’ve made a difference in their communities, as well as the Pacific Northwest as a whole.
The Portland Business Journal wrote that President Holmes-Sullivan was chosen for the award because she made two firsts as Lewis & Clark College’s 26th president and the first woman and person of color to lead the Portland institution. She came to the college from the University of California as its vice president for student life and dean of students in 2019. In that role, she helped guide the school through the Covid crisis. Since moving into the President’s Office in 2022, Holmes-Sullivan helped Lewis & Clark make its $155 million fundraising goal in September, nearly a year ahead of plan.
