Mobile and Remote Labs Update

Information Technology continues to move forward with our plan to offer flexible computer lab options for the Spring 2022 term with a combination of remote and mobile labs.

The remote lab is a Windows-only virtual lab with the same image and specs as the Dubach Lab computers. Machines are available on a first-come-first-served basis with a user capacity of twenty-five, which we are working to expand to forty. Instructions for accessing the remote lab are available here, and a list of installed lab software can be found on our website.

The global chip shortage continues to delay the procurement of laptops for the new mobile labs. One of our orders has finally gone through, and while we cannot yet provide an ETA, our goal is to have the mobile lab available for reservation when we return to in-person classes on February 7th. Instructors will reserve the cart like a lab, and retrieve the cart prior to class. We will provide more information about the reservation process as it becomes available.
