Glenna Goodacre, the artist who created the Sacagawea and Jean Baptiste Sculpture on Lewis & Clark’s undergraduate campus, has died at the age of 80.

Goodacre created several famous pieces throughout her life, including the Vietnam Women’s Memorial in Washington, D.C., the Irish Memorial in Philadelphia, and the Sacagawea Dollar Coin.

Goodacre was the mother-in-law of actor-singer Harry Connick Jr., who married model Jill Goodacre in 1994.
