I was born in Algeria to French parents, moved back to France as a toddler, and I grew up in a number of cities in France. My family moved to the East Coast of the United States when I was 12. I have a BA from Colgate University, my MA and PhD from the university of Virginia. I am now a professor of Spanish and Spanish Literature at LC. I speak French, Spanish and English (as well as fair bit of Italian). I consider my multicultural upbringing and career to be an integral part of my identity, and one that has enriched my life.
