The School Psychology program at the Lewis & Clark College Graduate School of Education and Counseling has received a grant of $50,000 from the Roundhouse Foundation.
The School Psychology program at the Lewis & Clark College Graduate School of Education and Counseling has received a grant of $50,000 from the Roundhouse Foundation, based in Sisters, Oregon, to support the launch of a hybrid track of its longstanding, nationally accredited program.
Oregon is severely impacted by the national school psychologist shortages, and the situation is most dire in rural areas of the state where there is no access to training programs.
To help address these shortages and improve statewide outcomes for Oregon youth, Lewis & Clark has designed a hybrid track of the existing School Psychology program, using a primarily online format. This program will provide graduate-level training to individuals living and working in rural communities. The program will promote an innovative, and ultimately self-sustaining, “grow your own” pipeline model, enabling rural schools to recruit within their local communities.
Lewis & Clark seeks the support of private foundations of all types and sizes. If you have or are connected to a foundation whose funding interests align with our work, please get in touch!
