Ray Warren Symposium IRCO X Refugee Care Collective Service Project
Calling all offices, academic departments, resident halls, and student organizations! We need your help collecting donations for IRCO & the Refugee Care Collective from November 4th through the 18th.
As part of the 21st Annual Ray Warren Symposium on Race and Ethnic Studies, the Center for Social Change and Community Involvement is hosting a post-symposium service opportunity. In collaboration with the Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization (IRCO) and the Refugee Care Collective we are putting on a drive all over campus to create Restart Kits for refugee and immigrant families in Oregon. Most refugees arrive in Oregon with few possessions, and you can help them rebuild their lives by building a Restart Kit. Here are the supplies we are need of for each Restart Kit:
Cleaning Kit:
- Mop and bucket
- Broom and dustpan
- Pack of sponges
- Bottle of all-purpose cleaner spray
- Toilet brush
- Dish soap
- Laundry detergent
- Light bulbs
- Tissues
- Paper towels
Bathroom Kit:
- Bath towels
- Hand towels
- Washcloths
- Water-resistant shower curtain with rings
- Floor bath mat
- Hand soap
- Rolls of toilet paper
- Small waste basket
Personal Care:
- Toothbrushes
- Toothpaste
- Shampoo
- Conditioner
- Deodorant (Men’s & Women’s)
- Bars of soap
- Razors
- Shaving cream
- Nail clippers and file
- Eyebrow tweezers
- Feminine hygiene pads (No tampons please)
- Rolls of toilet paper
