Dear Lewis & Clark students,

 

It’s time to make a plan to vote if you haven’t already! Elections are about more than just politics—they’re about the issues that affect our lives and communities. Whether they’re local, statewide, or national, focus on the issues that matter most to you, and seek out candidates and ballot measures who align with your values and priorities.

Election Office Hours!

Do you need a free stamp for mailing your ballot? Are you voting in a state that requires a witness or notary to sign your ballot? Stop by the Center for Social Change and Community Involvement and meet with the Palatine Hill Student Voter Club to make sure you have everything you need to vote before Election Day, Tuesday, Nov.5th!

VOTE EARLY DAY!

Did you know most voters can cast their ballot prior to Election Day? Join this day of action and celebration and empower your friends and neighbors to vote early this year.

The Let Out: Elections

We all need a space to “Let out” a sigh of relief, frustration, or despair and “Let out” the thoughts we’ve been holding in all day. During this Let Out session, IME and the Student Counseling Center are collaborating to create space and dialogue centering around the 2024 U.S. elections, however, the focus of the dialogue can change depending on the needs of the attendees. The Let Out is a space where we focus on all student’s experiences with a focus on Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) students. More information can be found here.

Election Day!

(STAMM) Enjoy snacks, drinks, a Photo Booth and commentary from L&C faculty while watching the results unfold. In partnership with Palatine Hill Student Voter Club, Joe Gantt, and the Center for Social Change and Community Involvement.

(Hu Media Lounge) Wanting a quiet space to process this election cycle? Come to the Hu Media Lounge for coffee, tea, snacks and destress activities.

Community and Chat!

Want coffee/tea and donuts and simply just be in community? The Office of the Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Students will be hosting a post-election space to informally gather as a community. This space is open to all students.

Preserving Democracy for Future Generations with Manu Meel

Join us for a post–Election Day conversation about preserving democracy for future generations with Manu Meel, CEO of BridgeUSA. As we reflect on the outcome of local and national races, Manu will talk with Adam Davis about how his organization, a multi-partisan student movement, is working to build community across differences. This event is part of The People and the Public, Consider This series. *Transportation provided for those who get a ticket.
