Announcing our Spring Cleaning Campaign
As announced in January, Google will no longer offer unlimited storage to educational institutions. Beginning today, we are undertaking a multi-pronged effort to reduce our data storage, which will include finding alternative storage solutions, deleting suspended accounts, and reducing individual storage. The goal will be to bring our entire domain’s storage under 100TB (we’re currently at 136.58TB).
For the data reduction campaign, each month we will award $25 gift cards to the faculty, staff, and student with the greatest percentage reduction in storage. All who delete more than 25% of their storage between March 1 and June 1 will be automatically entered into a grand prize drawing for either a prize worth $250 or a donation to your preferred charity.
Consult our Spring Cleaning Campaign webpage for information and next steps on how to reduce your individual data storage, including helpsheets and a project timeline. Additional questions may be directed to itservice@lclark.edu.
