Guest speaker: Michele Norris, one of the most trusted voices in American journalism served as cohost of NPR’s newsmagazine All Things Considered for more than a decade. Prior to NPR, she worked as an ABC News correspondent based in Washington, D.C. Her recent projects, The Grace of Silence: A Family Memoir and the Race Card Project, focus on race and identity.

Guest speaker: Governor Kate Brown JD ’85 is the 38th governor of Oregon. She served in the Oregon legislature for 17 years, in both the House of Representatives and the Senate. From 2009 to 2015, she served as Oregon’s secretary of state. In 2010, Lewis & Clark Law School honored Brown as a Distinguished Environmental Graduate.

Guest speaker: For more than 20 years, Robin DiAngelo has been a consultant and trainer on issues of race and social justice. She was appointed to codesign the City of Seattle’s Race and Social Justice Initiative antiracism training (with Darlene Flynn), among other projects. DiAngelo’s research focuses on whiteness studies and critical discourse analysis, explicating how whiteness is reproduced in everyday narratives.
