New Trustees Also Alums

Lewis & Clark’s newest trustees share a common bond: They are all graduates of the institution. “That special alumni connection will serve the College well,” says John E. Bates, chair of the Board of Trustees. “These individuals bring remarkable strengths to the board, including international ties.”

Peter D. Chang ’74 is senior vice president of marketing for Boullioun Aviation Services in Redmond, Washington, and managing director of China Aviation Marketing Consulting Services. He has worked in the aviation industry since 1979. Chang also serves as CEO and president of Chang Brothers, a restaurant chain. He earned his BA from Lewis & Clark and his M.BA from the American Graduate School of International Management. He lives in Redmond with his wife, Alice Chang ’74, and their children. 

Stephanie J. Fowler MA ’97 is a volunteer counselor at William Temple House. Previously, she was a news analyst for Oregon Public Broadcasting and hosted the network’s political affairs program “Seven Days.” With her husband, Fowler cosponsors a class for the I Have a Dream Foundation–Oregon. She also is a cofounder of the Renaissance Foundation, a private philanthropic organization that concentrates its giving in education, social welfare, and environmental preservation. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Princeton University and her master’s degree in counseling psychology from Lewis & Clark’s Graduate School of Education. Fowler lives in Portland. 

Judith A. “Judi” Johansen JD ’83 is president and CEO of PacifiCorp. Before taking that post in 2002, she was the energy company’s executive vice president for regulation and external affairs. In a career focused on utilities, Johansen has also served as administrator and CEO of the Bonneville Power Administration and as vice president of business development with Avista Energy, a wholesale power-marketing subsidiary of Washington Water Power. Johansen earned her bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University and her juris doctorate from Lewis & Clark Law School. She lives in Lake Oswego. 

Jouni J. Korhonen ’82 is senior vice president for credit risk architecture with Wells Fargo Bank’s wholesale banking group. He previously held various management positions for Bank of America in London, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and San Francisco. Born in Finland, Korhonen earned his BA from Lewis & Clark. As a student, he helped design the student government model that still serves the undergraduate college. Korhonen earned his master’s degree in public policy from Harvard University. He lives in Mill Valley, California, with his wife, Amal A. Mansour ’83, and their two daughters. 

Amy L. Miller ’80 served as managing director and cohead of loan capital markets for Merrill Lynch & Co. in New York from 2000 to 2002. Prior to that, she held management positions with Toronto Dominion Bank, Harris Bank & Trust’s Asia Pacific group, and Continental Illinois Bank’s multinational banking group. She earned her bachelor of arts degree from Lewis & Clark and her master’s degree from Columbia University. She is now focusing on raising her family. Miller and her husband, Gregory C. Brandner ’79, live in Tenafly, New Jersey.
