Nagel Named Associate Dean
Nancy Nagel, professor of education and a 12-year veteran of Lewis & Clark, has been named associate dean of the graduate school. In her new position, she supports the faculty’s teaching and scholarship efforts, assists faculty in their work with new teachers in Oregon, and oversees student recruitment.
“We want to continue to attract stellar candidates to our programs,” says Nagel. “We’re looking for students who are not only bright but also committed to making a difference in their communities.”
Nagel began her career at Lewis & Clark as an assistant professor, coordinating the teacher education program’s elementary cohorts. She was later promoted to associate professor, full professor, and eventually chair of the graduate school’s Department of Teacher Education. Her textbooks are used in teacher preparation programs nationally and internationally.
