Below is a list of VR experiences—applications, digital stories, and games—Educational Technology has currently installed on the Oculus Rift. Click on the app titles for more information from the Oculus store including genre, system requirements, and screenshots.

3D Organon VR Anatomy

3D Organon VR Anatomy is the world’s first fully-featured virtual reality anatomy atlas. It is an immersive self-discovery experience into the human body. You can manipulate bones, muscles, vessels, organs and other anatomical structures in 3D space. Examine structures from all angles, read or hear anatomical terminology and study definitions. Delve into the body systems, peek under the skin, and see what you are made of.

The new updated version of the app includes the human motion module, with animations of joints and bones.

Allumette

Allumette tells the story of a young orphan girl who lives in a fantastical city in the clouds. After enduring tragedy, she grasps at hope for her future. Loosely inspired by “The Little Match Girl” by Hans Christian Andersen, Allumette is an account of the love a mother and daughter have for one another, and the sacrifices they make for the greater good.

Anne Frank House VR

The award winning Anne Frank House VR offers a unique and emotional insight into these two years. Experience the world-famous Secret Annex in a never before seen way. Travel back to the years of the Second World War and wander through the rooms of the Annex that housed the group of 8 Jewish people as they hid from the Nazis. Immerse yourself in Anne’s thoughts as you traverse each faithfully recreated room, thanks to the power of VR, and find out what happened to the Annex’ brave inhabitants.

ARTAAL: a ride through an abstract landscape

ARTAAL: a ride through an abstract landscape is a short seated experience which takes you for a gentle ride in an abstract, surreal world. The ride takes about 20 minutes to complete, and requires no user input.

Beat Saber

Beat Saber is a unique VR rhythm game where your goal is to slash the beats (represented by small cubes) as they are coming at you. Every beat indicates which saber you need to use and also the direction you need to match. All the music is composed to perfectly fit the handmade levels.

Blind

Blind is a narrative-driven psychological thriller for virtual reality where the player is blind and must explore their surroundings using echolocation.Waking up in a strange room with little memory of how she came to be there, a young woman makes the shocking discovery she has lost her sense of sight. Goaded by the sinister and sadistic Warden, she must explore a twisted and frightening mansion using sound alone. By sending out soundwaves with a cane, the outlines of objects are revealed briefly, enabling the player to navigate the mansion, solve puzzles and uncover the mystery of what is happening to her.

The Body VR

The Body VR is an educational virtual reality experience that takes the user inside the human body. Travel through the bloodstream and discover how blood cells work to spread oxygen throughout the body. Enter one of the billions of living cells inside our body and learn how the organelles work together to fight deadly viruses.

Boulevard

BLVRD brings art, architecture, and culture to people around the world. Partnering with leading museums and cultural sites, Boulevard gives immersive access and revolutionizes the way the world looks at the arts. With 21st-century innovation and dynamic content, Boulevard is reshaping the landscape of storytelling and bringing history to life for anyone, anywhere, anytime.

BrainVis

BrainVis is an educational demo / proof of concept of visualizing and interacting with real neuroimaging data (*.trk, NIFTI), such as fiber rendering like these hairy brain images that you can for example see on Muse’s “the 2nd law” album cover, or NIFTI volumes (lesion masks, labels, T1 MRI).

Calcflow

Manipulate vectors with your hands, explore vector addition and cross product. See and feel a double integral of a sinusoidal graph in 3D, a Mobius strip and it’s normal or spherical coordinates! Create your own parametrized functions and vector fields!

The Climb

Scale huge heights and feel the exhilaration of extreme free solo climbing. Explore and enjoy the view or compete for the fastest times on leaderboards with Touch or gamepad controls.

Dead and Buried

Step into a world full of gunslingers and ghosts in Dead and Buried. Grab your Touch controllers and become the best gunslinger in the wild west in this multiplayer action shooter. Battle it out in the old saloon. Rob a runaway train. Team up with other bandits and defend against hordes of ghastly creatures. Finally, you can live out your wild west fantasies thanks to virtual reality.

Dreams of Dali

Enjoy the remarkable marriage of art and technology in “Dreams of Dali”, a virtual reality experience from The Dali Museum (St. Petersburg, FL), as you explore Salvador Dali’s 1935 painting “Archaeological Reminiscence of Millet’s ‘Angelus’.” Immerse yourself in the world of the Surrealist master like never before in this encounter, venturing into the towers, peering from them to distant lands and discovering surprises around every corner.

Face Your Fears

Face Your Fears will scare you, creep you out, or cause your jaw to drop in awe and amazement. Some of these experiences are terrifying, some fun and spooky, some are simply mysterious! Robots and ghosts and femme fatales can all be found within!

Halcyon

Halcyon is a futuristic murder mystery that explores the dark side of Virtual Reality (VR). The 15-part series includes 10 short-form episodes, interspliced with 5 interactive VR episodes that take you deeper into the story.

Herobound: Spirit Champion

In Herobound: Spirit Champion, you play as the chosen avatar of the Spirit of Life. Explore the 4 natural realms in your quest to free the other Spirits. Each time you free one of the captive Spirits, you are granted a magical stone that imbues you with some of their power. Use their powers to face and ultimately defeat the Spirit of Fire. Unlock more of the world as you explore the world “room to room”, earning new powers and items to become the Spirit Champion.

I Expect You To Die

I Expect You To Die is a virtual reality puzzle game that places you in the well-polished shoes of an elite secret agent. You must attempt to survive deadly situations in immersive and dangerous locales. Complete each operation using problem-solving skills and wits… oh, and the power of telekinesis that all our agents are equipped with. Use it and whatever resources you can find to escape each situation… or die trying.

Job Simulator

In a world where robots have replaced all human jobs, step into the “Job Simulator” to learn what it was like ‘to do the job’. Players can relive the glory days of work by simulating the ins and outs of being a gourmet chef, an office worker, a convenience store clerk, and more.

Jurassic World: Blue

Dinosaurs have overtaken the turbulent Isla Nublar, but the threat of a natural disaster erupting looms eerily over the island. MasterpieceVR

MasterpieceVR is a 3D sculpting and painting tool that is an extension of traditional artistic workflows and opens up new ways for rapid ideation, creation and collaboration in virtual space. Creative professionals and artists can quickly learn to create high-quality 3D content and collaborate with others from all over the world.

MasterWorks: Journey Through History

Travel to three continents and visit some of the world’s most amazing places that span over 3000 years of human history. Discover the fate of the ancient capital of Thailand, the mysteries of a pre-Incan temple in the Peruvian Andes, the astonishing Native American cliff dwellings of Colorado, and the monumental stone carvings of Mt Rushmore in South Dakota. Richie’s Plank Experience

Are you afraid of heights? Take an elevator to our plank that’s sits 160m high (525 feet) above the ground, then dare to walk to the end! Richie’s Plank Experience was made to demonstrate virtual reality to our friends and family. It’s a short experience packed with fun.

Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality

Experience life as a clone of Morty and all the trauma that comes with it. Step through portals to strange worlds, help Rick with his bizarre experiments, and use your hands in VR to pick up and play in an interaction-filled 3D Rick-ality. Follow Rick’s directions (or don’t!) to solve puzzles and complete missions in this fully voice acted adventure.

Ripcoil

Enter a futuristic gladiatorial arena packed with rabid fans as you face off against networked opponents in a disc throwing duel. A wholly unique navigation system will allow you to deftly position your hover board as you reach out with your Touch controllers to launch, catch and punch the speeding, spinning Ripcoil disc.

Robo Recall

Robo Recall is an action-packed VR first-person shooter with visceral Touch gameplay and an in-depth scoring system. Earn the high score by using creative combat tactics and skill shots as you teleport through city streets and rooftops in an awe-inspiring ballet of bullets. Tear apart your interactive robot foes and use them to fend off the enemy onslaught. Room 202

Your hands are cuffed. Your mouth is gagged. The door reads Room 202. Navigate your way using only the movement of your head and your smarts as a couple of dirty cops pepper you with questions. Will you sing?

Space Pirate Trainer

Space Pirate Trainer is the official trainer for wannabe space pirates. Remember those awesome classic arcade cabinets? Imagine if those were immersive… Space Pirate Trainer puts you in one of those; fighting off relentless waves of droids with all the weapons and gadgets you would ever need as a Space Pirate.
