Hardship Assistance Fund
These funds are made available to any full member of the unit*, as well as their dependents, spouses, and partners. Applicants may apply for up to $1,000 per 12-month period.
Assistance is available to:
- Any full member of the unit (*excludes Fair Share and probationary employees)
- Any dependent, spouse, partner of a full member of the unit
Assistance is available for the following needs:
- Hospital or other medical expenses
- Travel expenses for bereavement or medical reasons
- Electric, gas, water/sewer expenses
- Mortgage or rent payments
- Transportation expenses to and/or from work
- Payroll delay
Who can apply?
- Any full member of the unit
- Spouse or partner or guardian of a full unit member
Application Process
The following informations and documents are needed to process a fund request:
- Copy of government ID (passport, driver’s license)
- Explanation for need of funds
- Proof of expenses (invoices, statements)
- And if applicable, proof of relationship to the member (marriage license, joint tax return, joint bank account statement, birth certificate)
