Answers to Commonly Asked Questions
Q. Who is eligible to participate in the program?
A. Eligible persons include faculty members with tenure or tenure track appointments or staff members in student support areas. For specifics, see “Eligibility Requirements”.
Q. How do I find out more about the program?
A. Check the website and if you have additional questions contact Moira Domann (503-768-7801).
Q. How do I apply for the program?
A. Fill out an Interested Party Form and send a one-page statement identifying how living close to campus will facilitate your future contributions to the co-curricular life of the College. Return both to MSC 27, fax to x7937 or email to domann@lclark.edu.
Q. How are properties priced?
A. Properties are appraised by a certified appraiser for both land value and value of improvements. The College retains title to the land and sells the improvements, making the cost of a home more affordable.
Q. What are the Qualifications for a Mortgage?
A. Potential borrowers must have a minimum of 10% downpayment, a minimum credit score of 680 and meet debt to income ratios. See the summary of qualifications for obtaining a mortgage.
Q. What school districts are in the area?
A. Capitol Hill Elementary, Jackson Middle School, and Ida B. Wells High School.
