Transportation Demand Management Plan
What is the TDM and how does it affect parking at Lewis & Clark College?
The TDM is a binding agreement between Lewis & Clark College and the City of Portland, specifically PBOT. In part, the agreement focuses on achieving lofty climate change targets and to reduce vehicle congestion in residential areas. These goals are achieved by placing limits and restrictions including:
- Limiting the amount of parking spaces allowed on campus (We are at the maximum number).
- Sets the minimum amount LC is allowed to charge for parking permits and stipulates regular, 4%, increases over the course of the decade.
- Requires LC to offer alternative transportation options which we accommodate by offering our Free Pio Express Shuttle, a 75% subsidy for TriMet, ZipCar discount and access, and a carpool permit program.
Transportation and Parking is located in Campus Safety on the Undergraduate Campus.
