Image Usage Rights
Many images are protected by copyright, which means you can’t just automatically use any photo or graphic that you find online (or elsewhere, for that matter).
Images and graphics should not be used—in other words, posted on your webpages or social media, or included in email newsletters, videos, or print materials—unless you’ve gotten proper licensing for use from the holder of the copyright. Lewis & Clark is liable under the Copyright Act and must pay for every instance of unauthorized use of images.
If you need help finding an image or would like to know if the image you’ve found is okay to use, please contact the Office of Communications.
Communications is located in McAfee on the Undergraduate Campus.
