Each year, L&C students gain hands-on work experience via paid internships in the green sector through the Bates Center Sustainability Internship course. This summer, Feya Dawkins BA ’25 interned with SCRAP, a Portland-area nonprofit that offers educational programs and budget-friendly materials to inspire creative reuse and eco-friendly habits.

- Feya joined the SCRAP team for the summer, spending majority of her time in the Education Studio crafting, organizing, and assisting with summer camps and workshops for creative people of all ages. The Portland location is part of the SCRAP network that is made up of grassroots creative reuse centers across the country.
