My name is Nkeletso Mota and I attended Waterford Kamhlaba UWCSA. I am originally from South Africa and all throughout my life I have had a strong determination to see the world and experience and interact with a multitude of various cultures from all over the world. Attending a UWC was an extraordinary opportunity for me to do just that.
During my two years at Waterford I was able to meet people from all over the globe which widened my perspective to new heights and deepened my curiosity for exploration. At Waterford, I explored many of my different interests not only academically but creatively as well. This experience is what led me to consider Lewis and Clarke. The school provides a tight-knit community that values cultural exchange as well as deep interaction with global socioeconomic issues. The inter-disciplinary nature of the curriculum at L&C further cemented my decision as it allows for me to explore my academic interests. I plan to major in economics.
I am excited to study in Portland, Oregon and have the opportunity to receive higher education in a country different to my own. I love travelling and have been to a few countries across the globe but I definitely have the desire to do much more of it. I hope that by studying at L&C I will be able to challenge myself academically as well as outside of the classroom and explore all the exciting opportunities that L&C has to offer.
