Being at UWCEA, Moshi Campus was an experience I never would have dreamed of having. Not only did I have the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life, but I was offered the platform to pursue my dreams and explore many different hobbies. I made friend from all over the world, and especially enjoyed the time I spent with them (dinners, school activities, sports and more) and learning about their cultures.
My choice to attend Lewis & Clark was mostly influenced by the well-rounded Environmental Studies program that they offer, and also the ample study abroad opportunities there. The generous financial aid also played a large part in my decision making process, and its beautiful location and scenery only persuaded me more! I plan to major in Environmental studies during my time at L&C, hoping to learn more about environmental action and how it can be incorporated into human development and sustainable growth. Environmental Studies is a course I decided to pursue after taking Geography in my previous school at a higher level, which looked at human, political and environmental geography - all topics I am fascinated by. However, I am mostly interested in human and environmental geography. Apart from Environmental studies, I also have a passion for fine arts, rhetoric and media studies, as well as an interest in astronomy.
To me, finding new hobbies and interests could be considered a hobby on its own, because I enjoy learning new things whenever I can. This has led me to have many hobbies such as knitting, crocheting, embroidery, drawing, singing, dancing and many more activities. I believe that learning new things and tying out any activity that you think may be fun whenever you want to should be something we all do.
Someday, I hope to travel the world, probably alone, and hope to make it to every continent. I have only ever been to South Africa and Tanzania (South Africa for recreation and Tanzania for education) outside of my home country Eswatini, and never got the opportunity to travel much in either of them, but I am hoping that will not be the case during my time at L&C! During my time as a student here, I hope to grow in all aspects of myself - academically, mentally, physically and more– learning more and more about the world I live in and the people within it, as well as about myself!
