My LPCUWC Experience is something I could not express given even an infinite number of words, but if I had to try, UWC was the first time in my life that I believed that I could truly be who I was, and where I took the biggest step towards becoming the person that I want to be. I made friends for life and found a home away from home, all the while experiencing and discovering elements of new cultures while simultaneously getting more in touch with my own roots.
I decided to commit to Lewis and Clark because of the beautiful campus and surroundings, as well as the amazing factor of being surrounded by nature whilst also being close to a big city, something I truly appreciated during my time in Hong Kong, being able to switch between the convenience and adrenaline of a big city and the calm peace of nature is truly an advantage.
The warm welcoming impression I received from all of my interactions with the college also added to my inclination towards committing to L&C.
I’m planning to major in Physics as it’s a subject that has always fascinated me, and I’m also planning to move on to the engineering dual degree program. I know this will be a challenge, but I hope I can make time for all of my non-academic passions, namely music, theater, politics and football (soccer). Finding the perfect balance between academics and my life outside of school is something that I aim to accomplish at Lewis and Clark.
In terms of traveling, I’ve travelled with my family across various places in Asia and Europe, as well as exploring Hong Kong and Macau on my own and with friends at UWC. Arriving in Portland this fall will be the first time in North America and I hope to explore parts of South and Central America as well as Africa in the future. I love traveling as I believe it is a great way of broadening your horizons. I also love exploring new places and meeting lots of new people.
That’s all I have to say for now, I’m super excited and looking forward to getting on campus and starting the next chapter of my life!
