Leaving home at the age of 15 and traveling thousands of miles was one of the craziest thoughts I could ever dream of. Will I ever be able to adjust? Will I ever find friends? What if something goes wrong? Am I really prepared for it? Each query triggered a whirlwind of introspection, a tempest of doubts that raged within as I stood at the precipice of this big change. But UWC experience being way less stressful and more fun than my expectations, opened several new gateways for me to learn and unlearn every single day. From being able to engage with several cultures that I barely imagined to ever meet and be friends with, to engaging in the most interesting debates in the global politics class, MUWCI helped me to not just understand the roots of my own culture with a new perspective but also challenged me to grow as an individual.
Hoping to continue this transformational journey of exploring life from freshly brewed perspectives, I made the decision to join Lewis and Clark. The idea of living and growing in a small close knit community, while unleashing the magic of the Portland city sounded like an exciting adventure to unearth hidden facets to discover new melodies within myself.
I am planning to double major in Rhetoric & Media Studies and International Affairs. As journalism has been a dream career I have been following for years now, I believe that this interdisciplinary combination provides me with the best opportunity to continue exploring my passion for politics and dwell deep into the world of media at the same time.
Outside of academics, I am an ardent devotee of spoken word poetries, and love expressing my innermost musings through the lyrical cadence of verses. Although I am a rookie in the field, I am really excited to share my love for poetries at LC. Alongside, cooking has been a great way for me to relieve stress, connect with people and share my comfort meals as a love language to the people I love. Hence after long, hectic and tiring days I love to relax myself with some heartily hours of cooking and experimenting with different cuisines, flavors and the ideas behind those dishes.
Within the vibrant tapestry of Lewis and Clark, I aspire to weave the threads of my narrative with tales of triumphs, joy and hustles into the collective fabric of shared experiences. Moreover, as much as I am grateful to my time as MUWCI for giving me one of the most adventurous years of my life, I am really excited to carve out a new haven of finding a new home at Lewis and Clark.
