My name is Esraa, and I grew up in Amman, Jordan. From a young age, I’ve always had a strong curiosity and a desire for knowledge. I spent much of my childhood questioning facts, opinions, and the world around me. This led me to join UWC to explore and grow extraordinarily. It’s difficult for me to pinpoint just one thing I enjoyed the most about my UWC experience. It was a transformative and challenging journey for me. Traveling alone for the first time, being fully responsible for every aspect of my life, and meeting people from diverse cultures and countries were all incredible experiences. However, one of the most significant aspects of my UWC experience was the deep connections I formed with others. Sharing emotions and experiences with people worldwide was invaluable, those connections still hold a special place in my heart.
As I continue my education, I have chosen Lewis & Clark College to pursue a Biochemistry and Molecular Biology degree. I find biology and chemistry very interesting, to the addition of my passion for doing research in those two fields. I believe that finding inner peace is crucial for my personal growth. Thus, Lewis & Clark College’s campus and the opportunity to be close to my professors are very important for my inner comfort. I am confident that such a nurturing environment will enable me to make the most of my time and abilities at LC and beyond.
Outside of academics, I have a passion for music. Although I am not highly skilled, I enjoy playing the piano. I have also discovered a love for singing and hope to enhance those two skills during my time at LC. I like to draw or read when I’m not feeling my best. These activities help me go through challenges in my everyday life.
As I begin my journey at Lewis & Clark College, my primary goal is to establish stability and balance in everything I do. I want to make use of every opportunity for personal and academic growth while nurturing my emotional well-being. Above all, I am excited about the prospect of connecting with new people, expanding my horizons, and making the most of my time at LC.
