Pedal Power: Upgrading Our Bicycle Parking!

We’re thrilled to announce that the Portland Bureau of Transportation has updated the bicycle parking requirements in the zoning code. This means our campus will soon see some fantastic upgrades in bike parking! With a three-year investment of $750k-$1m (we are currently in year 2), we’re ensuring that L&C stays ahead in campus transportation needs.

This past year, we crafted a Bicycle Parking Master Plan, which aligns with Portland’s bike parking regulations and builds on our facilities study. Soon, you’ll see a mix of improved existing bike parking spots and brand-new ones, offering secure, convenient short-term and long-term options for everyone—students, faculty, staff, and visitors alike!

While this project will roll out over several years, we’re excited to share that the new master plan has begun construction this summer, and long-term bike solutions are set to kick off this fiscal year. Happy biking!
