Seth Orensky joined the Pioneers staff in spring 2022 after nearly 10 years as the Sports Information assistant at Division III UMass Boston.
He served as the media contact for six Division III teams and was in charge of all social media and video work for the athletics department. Orensky created the Beacons Broadcast Network, which webcasts 110 athletic events a year with video, play-by-play and graphics on all UMass Boston contests. He served as one of the play-by-play broadcasters for the department and was in charge of hiring outside broadcasters, including two Jim Nantz award winners and 2022 Division III Hockey Broadcaster of the Year Award winner Matt Meisenbacher.
During his time at UMass Boston, Orensky served as the media contact for several NCAA and conference tournaments including the 2019 NCAA Division III men’s hockey tournament, the 2019 NCAA Division III Baseball Regional Tournament and the 2019 Little East Conference Baseball Tournament. He was also the primary social media contact for the 2019 NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track & Field Championship Meet.
Outside of UMass Boston, he worked as a freelance play-by-play broadcaster and sideline reporter in the Boston area. Orensky served as one of the main play-by-play voices of MIT Athletics and contributed to Boston Neighborhood Network’s (BNN) coverage of Boston City League basketball and football games.
Prior to starting at UMass Boston, Orensky graduated from Boston University in 2011 with a dual degree in Broadcast Journalism and History. He worked as a broadcast intern with the Worcester Tornadoes of the Can-Am League in the summer of 2012. Orensky is a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
