Roberta Cooper Ramo will offer the 2010 Lewis & Clark Law School commencement address. Ramo became the first female president of the American Bar Association in 1995, and in 2008 she became the first female president of the American Law Institute. She was appointed by President Clinton to serve on the National Advisory Council on Violence Against Women. She serves as chair of the ABA’s Rule of Law Initiative, on panels for the American Arbitration Association, the CPR Institute for Dispute Resolution’s National Panel of Distinguished Neutrals, and is a member of the Santa Fe Opera and the non-partisan think tank, Think New Mexico. She currently serves on the Board of CIVITAS, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to give parents and care givers the best information on raising healthy, productive children.
