We’re excited to share that Google Gemini and NotebookLM—two powerful, AI-powered tools—are now available through your Lewis & Clark Workspace for Education account.
These tools are designed to support creativity, learning, and productivity for students, faculty, and staff alike:
- The Gemini app can help students, faculty, and staff brainstorm ideas, get quick answers, summarize or translate content, and generate materials.
-
NotebookLM helps you explore, organize, and even transform information you have already gathered.
Both tools include enterprise-grade privacy protections when used with your @lclark.edu account—your data stays private and is not used to train AI models or reviewed by humans.
While these tools can be incredibly helpful, it’s important to remember they have limitations. AI-generated content can sometimes be inaccurate, include biased perspectives, or raise concerns around copyright and ethical use.
As we embrace these new tools, we encourage everyone to use them thoughtfully:
- Don’t input sensitive data (like PII, PHI, or student records)
-
Use AI to support—not replace—your work
-
Check your syllabus and ask your instructor before using AI in coursework
-
Always review and verify any AI-generated content
-
Be sure to follow the college’s policy on AI and the Use of College Data
