The Oregon Public Utility Commission (PUC) is seeking public input on NW Natural’s proposed rate increase. This is a critical opportunity to share your thoughts and ensure community voices are heard.

Tell the Commission you want it to support fuel shifting from gas appliances to electric appliances, you want NW Natural to reduce its emissions, and that you don’t think NW Natural deserves increased profits when it is continuing to deliver fossil fuel, fight state and local climate policies, and offer false solutions like hydrogen to heat homes.

About the Proposed Increase

NW Natural has requested a $61.2 million revenue increase. If approved, residential customers using an average of 47 therms per month could see a $5.55 monthly bill increase. The proposed rate hikes are:

  • Single-family residential: +6.8%
  • Multi-family residential: +7.0%
  • Commercial: +6.3%
  • Industrial: +2.2%

NW Natural cites inflation, interest rates, and infrastructure costs as reasons for the increase. The PUC will review the proposal to determine if these changes are justified. A final decision is expected in October 2025, with new rates potentially taking effect November 1, 2025.
