March 11, 2025

Tory Dille has dedicated her career to community-based advocacy for wildlife and wild places. With an M.S. in Science Education from Montana State University and a BA in Anthropology and Environmental Science from Washington University, Tory’s background combines education, advocacy, and fieldwork. She has taught biology, led wilderness programs, and worked extensively in nonprofit development. Her legal experience includes clerking for the Center for Biological Diversity and working with Earthjustice’s Northern Rockies Office, where she will continue this summer. Tory’s dedication to protecting species like wolves and grizzly bears reflects her deep connection to the Northern Rockies.

Shoshana Grossman, a second-year law student, discovered her passion for public lands management as an interpretive ranger with the National Park Service at Arches and Mesa Verde National Parks. Her experience expanded to biological science work at Grand Teton and Glacier National Parks. At Lewis & Clark, Shoshana has served as a Public Lands Project Coordinator for the Northwest Environmental Defense Center, a Native American Law Students Association Board Member, and an incoming Environmental Law Review form & style editor. Her legal work includes clerking for the Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance and this summer she will join the Western Environmental Law Center in Helena, MT.

Both Tory and Shoshana are committed to using their legal education to protect ecosystems, public lands, and indigenous rights. We are excited to see how they continue to make a positive impact as Wyss Scholars and beyond.

About the Wyss Scholars Program

Lewis & Clark Law School was selected in 2017 to be part of the Wyss Scholars Program. Funded by The Wyss Foundation, a private, charitable foundation dedicated to land conservation, the Wyss Scholars Program seeks to identify and support a new generation of leaders focused on land conservation issues. Lewis & Clark is one of only a few law schools in the country selected for this program.

Two Wyss Scholars are selected from Lewis & Clark Law School each year on the basis of their leadership potential and academic strength and their commitment to furthering land conservation.
