Dear staff and faculty colleagues,
Welcome back! I am writing to you with excitement for the great work ahead this semester and gratitude for all that you do. Each of you plays a vital role in delivering the high quality educational experience for which our undergraduate college, graduate school, and law are known.
Starting today all three of our schools are back in session. This semester marks the first for Alicia Ouellette as the Jordan D. Schnitzer Dean of Lewis & Clark Law School. Please join me in welcoming her to our community.
When I look back over 2024, we certainly had some bumpy moments. But, mostly I marvel at how much our community achieved. From the unveiling of L&C’s new strategic imperatives to successful cross-school initiatives, we had a year of incredible collaboration, success and impact. And, of course, our students continue to amaze us all with their unique perspectives and pursuits. If you missed it, here’s a round up of some top stories L&C of 2024.
Looking ahead, we are in an exciting phase of planning for Lewis & Clark’s future. You should have received an email invitation to a Strategic Planning Open House and Happy Hour next Tuesday, January 28, from 3:30–5 p.m. at South Chapel on the GSEC Campus.
This is one of several opportunities you will have to engage with the members of the Strategic Imperatives Advisory Council who have been working on the next steps of the Big Ideas process. Come hear from your colleagues about specific initiatives that are being considered to advance the strategic imperatives. I hope to see you there.
Meanwhile, I am looking forward to a great semester working side by side with all of you to support the aspirations of our students.
