Fall Athletics Recap and Upcoming Seasons
Guest Columnist: Seth Orensky
Hello students!
Have you been following our Athletic teams this year? We just wrapped up the fall season and several teams and athletes put together fantastic performances. Senior Riley Buese of the Women’s Cross Country Team earned All-American honors after finishing 17th at Nationals. Junior Malia Heien and sophomore Evan Markelz also competed in Cross Country Nationals in Indiana. The Football Team posted their second-straight .500 season or better – it’s the first time that’s happened since 1991! First year Oa Kamakawiwoole was named the Northwest Conference Rookie of the Year and the Football Team earned huge wins on Homecoming and Senior Day. Finally, Women’s Soccer senior Celeste Schreifels set the program record for career points (75) and game-winning goals (11).
