Happy Indigenous Peoples’ Day from IME!

My name is Joann (she/her), I am the Director of the Inclusion & Multicultural Engagement (IME) office! Here at IME, we aim to support all students while providing extra support to our students of color, first-generation students, and students who identify within the LGBTQ+ community. We provide opportunities on campus to engage, reflect and to learn one’s own identity as well as how we can aim to be better partners and allies for the rest of our community.

Today is Indigenous Peoples’ Day. We hope you will join IME, the Native Student Union, our Native Alumni Association, and Office of Equity & Inclusion during this year’s Indigenous Peoples’ Day as we gather our community to learn and be in solidarity with our Native leaders during our “Native Activism Panel in Support of Indigenous Peoples’ Day.” Together, we will learn about what activism means to our panelists, how to continue to push for change while working with leadership, and storytelling of successes and challenges. The event will take place today, Monday, October 14th from 5-6:30pm in Stamm West, Fowler Student Center. Please RSVP as dinner will be served.

Follow us on Instagram (@ime_lc) or subscribe to our weekly newsletter to learn more about events like this and beyond. IME is located on the third floor of Fowler, near the spiral staircase. We’re open from 9-5pm or by reservation.

In community,

Joann Zhang
