Welcome to the 2024-25 academic year at Lewis & Clark

Dear students, staff, and faculty,

I want to welcome you to the 2024-25 academic year at Lewis & Clark. I hope your arrival on campus follows a restful summer with many opportunities to connect with family, friends and, maybe most importantly, with yourself!

If this year marks your first with Lewis & Clark, you may not yet know that you are joining an incredible community of students, staff, faculty, administrators and alumni who care deeply about the world, our communities, and each other. You are now one of us!

It’s an impressive and talented group of students across all three schools. At the undergraduate college, the incoming undergraduate class hails from 35 states and U.S. territories, and 17 countries. At the Graduate School of Education and Counseling, 316 students are starting during the 2024-25 academic year, one-third of whom identify as first generation. Our first-year class of law students comes to us from over 100 colleges and universities and 27 states―fifty-six percent are from outside of Oregon.

My message to you all: You belong here. While all of us―students, staff and faculty―may come from different backgrounds, together we form one community here at Lewis & Clark. I am deeply honored you have chosen to be a part of it.

If you see me on campus, please stop me and say, Hello! Even if we have never met before, I would love to hear how things are going for you.

Meanwhile, I wish everyone a smooth start to the semester and a great year ahead.

Sincerely,

Robin H. Holmes-Sullivan

President
