Help Welcome New CAS Students on August 28

The first day of CAS New Student Orientation is just three and a half weeks away!

Please support new students and the First-Year Experience team by creating a welcoming environment for the newest members of our community:

  • Wear your favorite Lewis & Clark gear or anything black and/or orange on August 28. We’d love to see everyone show their school spirit!
  • Help new students move into their residence halls. Your help can come in the form of carrying boxes from cars to rooms, providing directions, or simply greeting people with a smile. Volunteers are needed from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and you can sign up for a shift online.
  • Help us continue a new tradition!Join us at Griswold Stadium track at 2 p.m. on August 28 to be a part of the welcome way. New students will pass through L&C faculty and staff lined up on either side of the track as they enter the stadium for their NSO welcome event. Students will sit in chairs on the track and friends and family are invited to join in the stands.
  • Be mindful about parking on August 28.The CAS campus will be extremely busy during move-in, especially around residence halls. Please park in the Fir Acres, Griswold, or graduate school lots rather than in the residential areas of the CAS campus.

If you have any questions about move-in day, please reach out to the First-Year Experience team, Jonathan Manz (jmanz@lclark.edu) or Melanie McManamon (mmcmanamon@lclark.edu).
