main content An Invitation to the Strategic Plan Big Ideas and Initiatives Presentation
All faculty and staff are invited to attend.
Dear Colleagues,
I hope you’ve had the opportunity to review my update on the strategic planning process. Some have already replied with insightful comments, and we’re excited to keep building momentum.
All faculty and staff are invited to attend the next milestone event, a virtual session on Monday, March 11, from 9 to 11 a.m., on Big Ideas and Initiatives.
This online presentation by Dr. Fleming Puckett of EAB will be an introduction to the research, concepts, and processes that a growing number of successful institutions have used to align major strategic planning initiatives and fundraising. (A recording will be made available if you can’t participate live.) As we begin to focus on initiatives that will advance our draft themes, this session is a critical first step. At this session, we will also share information about how faculty and staff can develop and propose Big Ideas for consideration and possible inclusion in the strategic plan.
Next, on April 18, from 2 to 4 p.m., an in-person, hands-on workshop will follow. At this event, those faculty and staff who’ve begun formulating new initiatives, or thinking about the enhancement of existing activities, will join together in person with Dr. Fleming and the Executive Council. The workshop will be a collaboration on translating ideas into strategic proposals and language that fosters support and promotes opportunities.
If you’re wondering whether or not the virtual session on March 11 is right for you and your role, we’d encourage you to speak with your dean or manager. This educational session does not obligate you to attend the April session or make any strategic plan proposals.
Thanks for your consideration.
Best,
Robin H. Holmes-Sullivan, PhD

Update on the Strategic Plan and Big Ideas Process
Dear Colleagues,
Over the summer, Executive Council and I made great headway on our strategic planning efforts. We will need your thoughtful input to finalize the plan.
On September 5, we will launch the review process with a special event in Council Chamber at 11 a.m. and via Zoom. We’ll be sharing with you a plan that outlines our draft strategic imperatives for the next five years.
