Reusable Eco-Containers Available for Free to Residents!
This sturdy and sustainable green box is a great new option for LC community members. Take your food to-go—and help reduce food waste on campus!
This semester, our partners at Bon Appetit will be starting a new initiative to supply reusable eco-containers that can be used at Fields Dining Hall.
Free to Residents!
Residents will be provided with their first container at no cost. Starting Monday, January 30, residents can pick up a carabiner at the Campus Living office, or between noon—1 p.m. at the Campus Living info table in the 3rd-floor Templeton foyer.
The first container/carabiner provided to you will be free, and recorded at the time of distribution. Replacement carabiners/boxes will cost $5 each, and non-residents may purchase a carabiners/boxes for $5.
How it Works
When you’re ready to use your container, just swap out your carabiner at the Fields serving stations. Once you’ve used the container, either exchange it for a clean container, or trade it back in for another carabiner! The carabiner acts as a currency for your eco-container.
PLEASE NOTE: You can return the container dirty! It’s not always possible to return your container right away–and that’s OK. If you hold onto your eco-container for an extended period of time, please consider emptying the contents and/or giving it a quick rinse. It takes just 24 to 48 hours for mold to germinate and grow.
