Vegetated roof added to Templeton remodel
Open gallery
With the recent improvements to Fields Dining Hall, a new roof material has been added above the bookstore. As students dine, they will enjoy a vegetated landscape just outside the East window wall.
Ecoroofs replace conventional roofing with a living, breathing vegetated roof system. An ecoroof consists of a layer of vegetation over a growing medium on top of a synthetic, waterproof membrane. An ecoroof signiicantly decreases stormwater runoff, saves energy, reduces pollution and erosion. Ecoroofs also absorb carbon dioxide, cool urban heat islands, and filter air pollutants. Ecoroofs increase habitat for birds and insects and provide much needed greenspace.
This roof is not intended to be accessed by foot by the community. Please respect these plants as they establish!
