Heidi Liere
Assistant professor of biology
In my lab, we study insect population, community, and landscape ecology to understand how this important group of animals respond to environmental filters in human-managed systems (e.g. cities, agroecosystems). I am an insect community ecologist/agroecologist and one of the main objectives of my work is to understand the links between biodiversity and ecosystem function and services. With collaborators from different institutions, we have an ongoing project in California looking at biodiversity in urban community gardens (https://www.urbangardenecology.com/).
