BrainPop - Choose from over 100 animated videos to learn about topics on health, science and technology. A few of the topics are: hearing, brain, muscles, heart, smell, taste, water cycle, waves, and rainbow. Tim (a boy) and Moby (a robot) are the main characters in the video cartoons. While you are waiting for the videos to load, you take a Quiz on the topic you will be watching. Be sure to click on "Loading Movie" to see when your movie is ready to watch. All interviews come with built-in support with photos, a guided quiz, a transcript and an interactive speaking section. These interviews are organized by date, subject, and level of difficulty. PEAK English - This site has a lot to offer. You must sign up. You can choose the "student" membership, which includes some free services: You might want to start by taking the Placement Test (40 questions) to see what your English level is. You can practice with games, American culture or slang. you can also work on your grammar with "Coaching Exercises" or participate with Pen Pals, Chat, or Message Boards. One interesting feature is the "Talk Back" message board. You record your voice to post voice messages. You can also hear the voice messages posted by others. This can give you real listening and speaking practice!

Takako's Great Adventure (Okanagan University) - Over 90 minutes of audio in this 10 episode (part ) story about a Japanese girl who has some *very* exciting adventures after leaving home. You see the text as you listen to the story. Click on words in the text to see definitions. Before listening to an episode, you can print out an activity worksheet.
