Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy and retired Justice Sandra Day O’Connor are among the keynote speakers scheduled at the 40th anniversary celebration of the Federal Judicial Center, hosted by Lewis & Clark Law School in September. This landmark conference will feature an unparalleled array of jurists and scholars.

Teaching Excellence

The graduating class of Lewis & Clark Law School has awarded the 2008 Leo Levenson Award for Teaching Excellence to John R. Kroger. This is Kroger’s third Leo Levenson Award.

First Ever Joint JD/LLM Degree in Environmental Law

Lewis & Clark Law School is pleased to announce the launch of a new joint J.D. /LL.M. degree program in environmental law—the only joint J.D./LL.M. program in environmental law in the nation. The joint degree is designed for Lewis & Clark law students who would like to obtain both a J.D. degree and a post-graduate LL.M. degree in Environmental and Natural Resources Law. Victory at Animal Law Competition

On Saturday, April 5, two Lewis & Clark law students claimed victories at the 2008 National Animal Advocacy Legislative Lobbying and Drafting Competition at the George Washington University School of Law. Paula Walker, 3L, took first place in the competition, and Kristen Monsell, 2L, was awarded Best Bill and Best Fact Sheet. Clinical Professor Jami Pannell coached both students in preparation for the competition.
